2025/2026: We own a property at Trida where we occasionally see koalas, usually between Oct and March. Most are younger and appear to be passing through our property on their way from the Hallston forest to a maturing plantation on a ridge north of us. The two most recent sightings are:10 Dec 2025 in a Blackwood tree along the road boundary. 13 Feb 2026 in a fine leaf eucalyptus, not sure of the species. Both koalas appeared to be healthy but did not stay long on our property, presumably because there are very few food trees; most are Blackwoods. We have planted many koala food trees but these are not yet large enough for koalas.
